After benefitting from a walkover in the previous round, Gauff looked good as she moved past the No. 61-ranked Italian and into the quarterfinals after one hour and 20 minutes on court. The 21-year-old American claimed 61% of service points and 54% of return points in the victory. Gauff will take on either No. 7 seed Jasmine Paolini (2-2 H2H) or Barbora Krejcikova (0-2 H2H) in the quarterfinals.
