RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Danny Reynolds.
A sixth-round pick by the Angels in the 2009 draft, Reynolds' career was sidetracked when he was suspended in 2012 for a violation of MLB's substance abuse policy, but he has moved through the organization's minor league system fairly quickly. He had a cup of coffee at Triple-A Salt Lake in 2014 before spending last season at Double-A Arkansas. Reynolds has been able to develop a 92-96 mph fastball into a weapon, notching 50 strikeouts in 43.1 innings in 2015, but continues to be struggle with his control, walking 28 batters over that span. The Angels thought enough of Reynolds to invite him to spring training last year, but was among the first to be cut before pitching in a Cactus League game. It's unclear where Reynolds will begin next season, but the Angels made it clear that his time in Double-A Arkansas was not a demotion, which could mean he has a shot to make his major league debut.
