Rest-of-Season Projections
Coles was traded to the Cubs in exchange for Angel Pagan, according to the Associated Press.
ANALYSIS
Coles will likely get a spring training invite from the Cubs, but he's a long shot to make the 40-man roster come opening day. However, his biggest asset is his speed, which is something the Cubs are genuinely lacking heading into 2008. The Cubs have somewhat of a logjam of capable outfielders in their farm system, and unfortunately for Coles, he's at the bottom of that pecking order.

2007 Fantasy Outlook
Coles is a prototypical leadoff hitter, who uses his speed to put pressure on the defense. His K:BB ratio of 59:48 is fairly solid and his walks resulted in a .407 OBP for High-A St. Lucie. Coles should advance up to Double-A Savannah next year but center field in New York will be manned by Carlos Beltran for the next five years, meaning that Coles may have to go to another organization to advance all the way up the ladder.
