2013
There was no outlook written for Mike Costanzo.
2008
Costanzo was traded to Houston as part of the Brad Lidge deal and then shipped to Baltimore in the Miguel Tejada deal. A left-handed hitter, he packs solid power, a strong arm and good glove, and has shown the ability to adjust and improve at every level during his two-plus seasons of professional ball. This season at Reading, Costanzo finished second in the league in home runs with 27 and also knocked in 86 runs while hitting .270. Even more impressive was his post All-Star break totals, including a .300 average, improved plate discipline and a better glove. Although he's not viewed as a top prospect since he'll be 24 next season, he may find himself in Baltimore sooner than later if the Orioles part ways with Melvin Mora in the near future.
2006
Costanzo, a second-round pick in 2005, signed immediately and hit pretty well in short-season ball. He's at least three years away.
