- Carroll came up from Triple-A Charlotte this week and turned in two impressive starts, first holding the Rays to one earned run over 7.1 innings and then holding the Indians to no earned runs over six innings. In total he had three strikeouts with three walks and one earned run allowed. The strikeouts are a red flag that his initial success is not likely to carry over. This shouldn't come as a great to surprise, when looking at his minor league numbers, as he had 13 strikeouts in 23 innings this season at Charlotte. This coming week he gets the Cubs, so maybe he'll be able to keep his strong debut going.
