Allen has returned to the floor despite a right big toe injury.

Allen exited the contest early in the first half after suffering what was initially described as a lower-leg injury, but it has since been reported that he's dealing with a toe issue. He tested it out in the tunnel and has since returned to action in Thursday's first-round matchup against Wisconsin.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Allen has come out of Thursday's game against Wisconsin with an apparent lower-leg injury, per the CBS broadcast.

The senior guard is a key member of the Hokies' rotation, so losing him for an extended stretch would be a test to Virginia Tech's backcourt depth. He was seen trying to loosen the ankle in the tunnel near Virginia Tech's locker room and has since returned to the bench area, but there's no word on whether he'll be able to return to action Thursday.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Allen contributed 18 points (6-10 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 5-6 FT), three rebounds, and an assist in the win over Wake Forest on Wednesday.

With the victory, the Hokies will advance to the ACC Tournament quarterfinals to take on Florida State. Zach LeDay and Allen are Virginia Tech's two leading scorers despite the fact that both came off the bench. Both, however, play starters' minutes at over 28 MPG. Allen has been hot over his last six games, putting up 16.3 PPG on 61 percent shooting from the field, 91 percent from the free-throw line, and 48 percent from long range. Allen did not play in Virginia Tech's only previous matchup this season with Florida State.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Allen came off the bench and had 12 points (3-5 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 6-6 FT), four assists, and two rebounds in the win over Miami on Monday.

Allen once again proved to be effective off the bench and his 33 minutes was his most in five games. The senior guard has scored in double figures in 12 of his last 14 games and during that stretch he is putting up 15.0 PPG and 3.1 APG in 30.8 MPG. Allen is also shooting 55 percent from the field and 50 percent from long range in those games. Virginia Tech will close out the regular season this Saturday when it hosts Wake Forest.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Allen notched a season-high 25 points (8-13 FG, 6-8 3Pt, 3-3 FT) and added three assists in a losing effort at Louisville.

Allen and Zach LeDay combined for 43 points off the bench for the Hokies. Allen was able to catch fire from deep as his six made shots from deep marked a season high. The fifth year senior has scored in double figures in 10 of his last 11 games. During that stretch Allen is putting up 15.9 points, 3.2 assists, and 2.1 rebounds in 31.7 minutes per game. He is also making 2.5 three's and hitting at a 51-percent clip from deep during that stretch. Virginia Tech will host Clemson this Tuesday.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Allen had a team-high 20 points Sunday against Virginia, adding four rebounds, two assists and a steal.

Allen's final scoring came on a game-winning jumper in double overtime. He's provided the Hokies with a nice inside-outside game, as Allen hit three 3-pointers in the contest while also attacking the rim with regularity. He could be called upon to do even more Tuesday at Pittsburgh should Chris Clarke's leg injury keep him sidelined.

February 2, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Allen had a team-high 14 points Wednesday at Virginia, adding two rebounds and an assist while playing all 40 minutes.

The Hokies were dominated by the Cavaliers' pack-line defense, shooting only 35.7 percent enroute to 48 points as a team, with only two players reaching double-figures. Since missing a game due to a concussion, Allen has has scored at least 11 points in seven-straight games. It's seems safe to expect that streak to extend over the weekend at Miami.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Allen provided 17 points (6-9 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and two assists off the bench to help his team take the win over Georgia Tech on Wednesday.

Allen made a game-winning layup with 15 seconds left to move Virginia Tech to 14-4. His 17 points tied a season high for the senior. Allen has raised his efficiency from last season, shooting 56 percent from the field and 47 percent from deep which is up from 39 percent from the field and 28 percent from long range last season. A concern, however, would be Allen's free-throw percentage which sits at 57 percent. His previous season low was 74 percent. The 6-1 guard will look to continue to provide an efficient scoring punch off the bench.
