Austin has decided to transfer to Oregon, ESPN.com's Jeff Goodman reports.

Austin chose to leave Providence after he was suspended following an off-court incident in December and quickly found a suitor in Oregon. Coach Dana Altman has a successful track record with integrating transfers into the fold, and Austin, a heavily-recruited swingman coming out of high school, represents an intriguing reclamation project.

Austin has been released from his scholarship with Providence and will transfer to another school, the Providence Journal reports.

Austin was a top 50 national recruit, but he was suspended along with fellow freshamn Rodney Bullock on Dec. 23 for violating the school's student code of conduct. Providence would not give details on the incident that triggered the suspension. Penn State, Oregon and Temple are schools that Austin reportedly has mentioned as places where he may transfer.

Austin was suspended for "not upholding his responsibility as a student-athlete," the AP reports.

Austin is a 6-6, 185 lb wing who has good ball handling skills. If and when his suspension ends, Austin likely won't see a great deal of playing time behind the Friar starting five.
