Smith (knee) is expected to re-join Nebraska in early-January, CBS Sports reports.

Smith suffered a torn ACL in early-July of 2014, but appears to be significantly ahead of schedule in his recovery, and could return to make significant contributions to the Huskers in 2015. The 6-foot-8 power forward averaged 5.4 points and 4.8 rebounds in the 2013-14 campaign as Nebraska's top big man option of the bench, and was expected to earn a more prominent role in the offense this season. Previously just a serviceable option in Big 10-only leagues, Smith could work his way back to fantasy relevance if he stays on his current timetable.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Smith has a torn ACL in his right knee, which was reported by ESPN's Jeff Goodman on July 8.

It's not clear on the exact day Smith tore his ACL, or how the injury occurred, but he tore his other knee in 2011, so this particularly bad news for him. It is doubtful that he will be able to take the court for the 2014-15 season. The 6-foot-8 forward averaged just 5.4 points and 4.8 rebounds in 16.8 minutes per game last season, and should fully recover in time for the 2015-16 season.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Smith posted a double-double Saturday in a win over the Citadel, scoring 10 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.

Smith still probably isn't much of an option for owners outside of Big 10-only leagues. Nebraska has very solid depth and that will make it difficult for Smith to create consistent production for his owners.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Smith saw a rise in his minutes during Thursday's narrow loss to Massachusetts, scoring 12 points and grabbing 10 boards in 27 minutes.

The junior transfer can definitely make an impact under the basket for the Cornhuskers this season. He also added three blocks on the night.
