Zierden suffered a season-ending knee injury against Butler on Wednesday, Jeff Borzello of ESPN reports.

Zierden will have two years of eligibility left for Creighton. However, he was averaging 9.5 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game which will leave a major hole in the production department moving forward. As a result, James Milliken will likely benefit from more opportunities with Zierden gone for the season.

Zierden knocked down four 3-pointers for 12 poinits, but it wasn't enough to keep the Bluejays from losing to North Texas.

Zierden came into the game attempting six 3-pointers per contest and attempted 12 against the Mean Green. He takes more than 75 percent of his shots from 3-point range and is a limited fantasy option.

Zierden hit four 3-pointers on his way to 17 points in the overtime loss to St. Mary's on Saturday.

Zierden has been a consistent offensive force for the Bluejays and has only been held to single digits twice. In his last three games, he has averaged 13.7 points and hit 52.9 percent of his 3-pointers (9-of-17).

Zierden led the Bluejays with 20 points, including four 3-pointers, in the win over North Carolina Central in the Emerald Coast Classic on Sunday.

Zierden has been bombing away off the Creighton bench and has hit 14 3-pointers in the team's four wins. He is getting a starter's complement of minutes and should be a good play in terms of points and 3-pointers.

Zierden scored 11 points on 3-of-6 shooting in Friday's exhibition game against Sioux Falls, the Omaha World-Herald reports.

Zierden missed the last seven games of the 2013-14 season due to a dislocated patellar tendon in his right knee, but looks to be healthy heading into this season. He'll compete for backcourt minutes behind starting guards Austin Chatman and Devin Brooks.

Zierden suffered a dislocated patellar tendon in his right knee in Saturday's loss to Xavier.

The freshman guard planted awkwardly on his right leg while trying to get back on defense and immediately went down. Zierden could not put weight on the knee as he was helped off the court, and while the team will send him for an MRI to confirm the diagnosis, it's more than likely that his season is over.
