Strickland scored 16 points (7-9 FG, 2-2 FT) and grabbed four rebounds Thursday night against Clemson.

Each of the Tar Heel starters were in double figures, including the often-forgotten Strickland. If North Carolina's offense continues to function at optimal efficiency, look for the senior to continue to benefit from the attention elsewhere.

Strickland tallied 14 points (4-10 FG, 6-6 FT) and four assists Tuesday against Boston College.

Strickland's offensive production, since netting a season-high 16 points against UNLV on Dec. 29, has been without highlight. Tuesday marked the first time in 30 days he scored in double figures. Expect the defensive specialist's numbers to return to levels more closely resembling his season averages 8.1 points and 4.1 assists per game going forward.

Stricklad had 12 points and 10 assists Saturday against East Carolina.

He added four rebounds and three steals, and is taking the reigns away from freshman Marcus Paige as the Heels point guard. Strickland is averaging 8.7 dimes over his last three games.

Strickland won't be playing point guard, head coach Roy Williams told Andrew Carter of the Charlotte Observer.

Freshman Marcus Paige is being given the keys to the offense immediately, but you have to think Strickland will see some time at the 1. His defensive ability will keep him on the floor, but he's also going to be sharing minutes with Leslie McDonald, Reggie Bullock and P.J. Hairston if he's not running point, which makes Strickland's fantasy appeal minimal.

Strickland tweeted that he has been cleared to play.

Strickland tore his ACL on January 19 and was lost for the 2011-12 season. He averaged 7.5 points and 2.1 assists. The senior will compete with freshman Marcus Paige for playing time at point guard. Strickland will see plenty of backcourt minutes for the Tar Heels because of his excellent perimeter defense.

Strickland suffered a torn ACL in his right knee during Thursday's game against Virginia Tech and will miss the rest of the season, the Charlotte Observer reports.

Strickland went down early in the second half of Thursday's game and immediately grabbed his knee in obvious pain. He had started every game for the Tar Heels this season, although he was hardly the best fantasy option, averaging 7.5 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game until the injury.

Strickland notched 13 points, six rebounds and six assists against Mississippi Valley State on Sunday.

Strickland is the wild card in the UNC offense; he has the ability to stuff the stat sheet this season from the swingman position.
