Walker will return to Florida for his sophomore season, opting not to enter the NBA Draft, Onlygators.com reports.

Walker wrote on Twitter that he was happy to "be joining the gatornation again for one more year" potentially indicating the next season would be his last in college. Serving a suspension, he didn't play his first game until February, but Walker was a potential first round pick so his decision to return was not guaranteed.

Walker was cleared to play and will appear in his first game next Tuesday against Missouri on Feb. 4, CBS Sports reports.

Walker was the top recruit for the Gators but has not appeared in a game while the NCAA mulled his eligibility. He should fit into the Florida frontcourt nicely and provide support on both ends of the court. Walker's minutes may be limited in his first few games as he gets accustomed to college basketball.

Walker is not expected to play Thursday against Alabama, OnlyGators.com reports.

Walker sent out a series of tweets suggesting he would make his collegiate debut Thursday (they've since been deleted), but it sounds like he may have jumped the gun a bit. Just Wednesday, a report surfaced saying Walker may not play at all this season, so it's a fluid situation at the moment.

Walker not playing at all this season "remains a possibility," OnlyGators.com reports.

Coach Billy Donovan refuted reports that the Gators expect to have Walker, a McDonald's All-American recruit, eligible for Saturday's game against Tennessee. Walker was ruled ineligible for the fall 2013 semester due to some unfulfilled academic requirements, and the situation has dragged on since. He's been practicing with the team for more than a month, but it's anyone's guess as to if, and when, Walker will play for Florida.

Walker, a 6-11 freshman forward, will not be allowed to play for the Gators until December, ESPN.com reports. He needs to fulfill some academic requirements before he is allowed to play.

The Gators are loaded in the frontcourt and will be able to survive the loss of Walker for much of the non-conference slate. Patric Young, Dorian Finney-Smith, and Damontre Harris will see a few more minutes while Walker observes and studies up.
