Austin has declared for the NBA Draft, ESPN's Jeff Goodman reports.

Austin has unique tools for a 7-foot-1 player, possessing three-point range, and other qualities generally associated with guards and small forwards. However, he also profiles as a potentially excellent rim protector, although his agility and bounciness around the rim are things that could hold him back. One disturbing trend was Austin's decline in points (13 ppg to 11.2 ppg) and rebounds (8.3 rpg to 5.5 rpg) from his freshman season to his sophomore campaign. On the other hand, he almost doubled his blocks per game, going from 1.7 bpg as a freshman to 3.1 bpg as a sophomore. He is projected to be a late-first/early-second round pick in June's draft, and will likely take a couple seasons to become a reliable rotation player in the NBA.
