Thompson will forgo his senior year of college, Jeff Goodman of ESPN reports.

Thompson averaged 10.6 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks in 23 minutes in 2016-17. It's unclear what his plan is, but it's likely he'll try for the NBA Draft or play overseas.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Thompson recorded 19 points (6-9 FG, 7-8 FT), 11 rebounds, two blocks, and an assist in a close loss to Indiana on Saturday.

Thompson tied his season high in points he set back on Jan. 25. The junior was also able to notch his 11th double-double this season. Thompson is second in the Big 10 in rebounding at 9.0 per game. The Buckeyes at just 17-14 shouldn't make the NCAA Tournament without winning the Big 10 Tournament.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Thompson notched a double-double with 15 points (5-9 FG, 5-6 FT), 13 rebounds, and three blocks in the win over Rutgers on Wednesday.

This was Thompson's ninth double-double of the season and fifth in Big 10 play. The 7-footer is currently second in the Big 10 in rebounding at 9.4 per game. Thompson is also fourth in the conference with 1.7 blocks per game. Thompson should have another good chance at a double-double this Saturday against a Maryland team who is just 133rd in the nation in rebounding.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Thompson had a career-high 19 points (8-14 FG, 3-4 FT) and added 10 rebounds, three blocks, one assist, and a steal in the win over Minnesota on Wednesday.

Thompson was able to pick up his seventh double-double of the season. The 7-footer has started to play his best basketball of the season in conference play. In his last six games, Thompson is averaging 12.7 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks in 28 minutes per game. Look for him to have success on the inside this Saturday against an Iowa team that ranks 300th in points allowed per game.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Thompson had 11 points (3-8 FG, 5-5 FT), a team-high nine rebounds and four blocks in Thursday's loss to Wisconsin.

Thompson's Buckeyes didn't put forth a competitive effort, but the junior center still went to work down low, limiting Wisconsin big man Ethan Happ to six points on 3-of-10 shooting. It was nearly his second straight double-double, as Thompson racked up an impressive 15 points and 15 boards last Saturday against Minnesota. Although Ohio State has now lost four in a row, Thompson has been a bright spot, as he's now third in the Big Ten with a 9.1 RPG average.

December 11, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Thompson led the Buckeyes with 17 points and 17 rebounds in the win over Connecticut on Saturday. It was his second double-double. He was 9-of-10 from the free-throw line.

The Virginia Tech transfer is having a better offensive season in his second year with Ohio State. He is averaging 11.0 points to go along with a team-high 8.6 rebounds. The seven-footer has scored in double-digits in seven of 10 games.

December 7, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Thompson dropped 16 points (7-9 FG, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, and one block in 23 minutes against Florida Atlantic Tuesday.

Thompson, who is being used as the backup center for freshman Micah Potter, is producing better value off the bench than he did as a starter in 2015-16, and getting about two minutes more playing time per game as compared to Potter. The highly efficient junior averages 10.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks in 19.6 minutes per game.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Thompson will be the backup center for Friday's opener against Navy, Michael Carvell of LandOf10.com reports.

Thompson will take a backseat to four-star freshman Micah Potter for the team's first game of the year. It's unclear how head coach Thad Matta will split playing time between the two big men, or if Potter will be able to secure the starting spot for good. Owners of Thompson should be wary of this move, but wait to see how Matta uses them. Thompson averaged 6.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks in 18 minutes per game as a redshirt sophomore in 2015-16.
