ANALYSIS
After not meeting the "standards and expectations" set by Purdue, according to coach Matt Painter, Smotherman has decided to transfer from Purdue to Georgia State. Smotherman appeared in 18 games last season, averaging 3.9 points and 1.7 rebounds across 12.1 minutes per game and is likely hoping he'll have a bigger role with Georgia State. According to Nathan Baird of the Lafayette Journal & Courier, Smotherman is on pace to graduate, so he will likely be immediately eligible next season.
