ANALYSIS
With fewer teams in the modern NFL making use of fullbacks in their offense, a market hasn't opened up this season for Felton, who has said he has kept himself in shape and would be receptive to joining a playoff-contending team down the stretch before calling it quits. Assuming Felton remains unsigned the rest of the way, he'll finish his nine-year career with 178 rushing yards and 421 yards. As is typical with most fullbacks, Felton was most valuable as a run blocker during his stints with five teams, most memorably earning a Pro Bowl nod with the Vikings in 2012 for leading the way during Adrian Peterson's 2,097 rushing-yards campaign.

Felton was signed by the Bills in March of 2015 to aid the Bills’ new run-heavy offense under offensive coordinator Greg Roman. Unfortunately, with Tyrod Taylor, a dual-threat quarterback, emerging as Buffalo’s surefire starter over the course of the season, the Bills shied away from two-back sets, in turn reducing Felton’s impact. He saw the field on only 27 percent of the Bills’ offensive snaps in 2015, and with the signing of Glenn Gronkowski prior to this year’s training camp, Felton could see his role reduced even more this coming season.
Felton will compete with John Conner for the fullback role and the $4 million guarantee on his contract would indicate that Felton has the best look at the job. However, even if he wins the competition he isn't likely to make a big impact for fantasy purposes.
Felton is Minnesota's starting full back. He could see a reduced role this season as new offensive coordinator Norv Turner hasn't been a big proponent of traditional blocking fullbacks in the past. However, he gets very few carries or targets and is rarely a fantasy factor even when used heavily.
Felton will start at fullback clearing a path for Adrian Peterson through opposing defenses.
Felton is the leading candidate to start at fullback. However, he could face league discipline for a second DWI arrest in June.
The Lions don't use Felton much in either the running or passing game. He'll be used to clear holes for Detroit's running backs and to give quarterback Matthew Stafford extra protection.
The Lions didn't use Felton much in the ground game - even around the goal line - last year and that trend figures to continue in the second year under offensive coordinator Scott Linehan. The veteran is used sporadically in the passing game, but he's primarily a blocker.
Felton is expected to start at fullback, but there will be some competition during training camp for the spot. Whoever lands the job won't see very many carries.
