Terrelle Pryor: Past News Updates   ( ▲ View most recent update )

Pryor is attempting a transition to wide receiver, NFL.com reports.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

Pryor was waived Thursday for the second time this offseason when he was released by the Bengals. He has failed to stick as an NFL quarterback to this point in his career, so the speedy and athletic 25-year-old will attempt to make a team as a wideout.
The Bengals have waived Pryor, Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

With Andy Dalton and AJ McCarron also in the team's QB mix, Pryor and Josh Johnson were essentially competing against each other for depth slotting. Pryor will now look to catch on elsewhere, but his chances of being given an opportunity to start for another NFL team appear slim.
Pryor signed a contract with the Bengals on Sunday.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

Pryor has reportedly indicated he does not intend to switch positions, meaning his sole focus will be on winning a backup job over AJ McCarron. The young quarterback didn't have a job in 2014, after being released by the Seahawks, but could stand a chance to nab the backup spot in Cincinnati with a strong training camp and preseason.
Pryor was released by the Chiefs on Tuesday, ESPN.com reports.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

Pryor signed a one-year contract in January after failing to make the Seahawks' roster out of training camp in August. The Bengals worked him out as a wide receiver in October, but he never signed with a team during the season. Meanwhile, the Chiefs have Chase Daniel, Aaron Murray and Tyler Bray to compete for the backup job behind Alex Smith.
The Chiefs have signed Pryor to a one-year contract, ESPN.com reports.

Pryor was released by the Seahawks on Friday, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

Pryor was competing with Tavaris Jackson for the backup job. The Seahawks were intrigued by his running ability and athleticism, but his inaccuracy throwing the ball made it clear the team wasn't likely to keep him even as a third quarterback.
Pryor was 1-of-4 passing for 10 yards Friday, but he ran three times for 59 yards, including a 44-yard touchdown, in Seattle's second preseason game against the Chargers.

Pryor was traded from the Raiders to the Seahawks on Monday, ESPN.com's Adam Schefter reports.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

Details of Oakland's compensation were not initially reported, and the Raiders will likely just get a late-round draft pick, possibly one that's conditional based on Pryor making the Seahawks' final roster. The fit looks pretty good here, as the Seahawks already run an offense for a speedy quarterback, although Pryor's skill set is quite a bit different than Russell Wilson's, both as a runner and passer. Pryor is far from a lock to make the roster, as incumbent backup and Pete Carroll favorite Tarvaris Jackson re-signed with the 'Hawks in March. As Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio KJR points out, Jackson has a fully guaranteed contract that very likely means he'll be the backup. The Pryor trade may make for a good headline outside of the fantasy world, but we're talking about a guy who will probably spend training camp battling B.J. Daniels for the No. 3 quarterback spot. Pryor still offers some promise in dynasty leagues, but his 2014 prospects don't really improve with this trade.

2015

2014

Pryor was known more for his running than passing during his three years in Oakland. But, if his pocket passing improves, it's his dual-threat ability that could land him a role.

2013

Pryor is expected to battle Tyler Wilson for the Raiders' backup QB spot.

2012

Pryor is an intriguing quarterback prospect given his size and speed, but he will open the season third on the depth chart behind Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart.
