Evans is now listed as a starter at wideout (opposite Vincent Jackson) on the Buccaneers' posted depth depth chart, ESPN.com reports.

While Evans had been listed behind returnee Chris Owusu on the team's initial posted depth chart, there wasn't much doubt that the rookie receiver would ascend to acknowledged starting status as the season approached. With his 6-5 frame, it's not hard to imagine Evans -- selected seventh overall by the Bucs in May -- making an immediate red zone impact in the team's offense in his capacity as a starter. In such a scenario, Evans would hold immediate fantasy utility, notably in TD-heavy formats.
Evans caught two passes for 52 yards in Saturday's preseason game against the Dolphins, but he lost a fumble just short of the goal line.

Evans was listed second at the "X" receiver position behind Chris Owusu on the Buccaneers' initial preseason depth chart released on Tuesday, the team's official site reports.

Evans, who was limited by a hamstring issue during the Bucs' offseason practices, expects to be fine for the start of training camp, the Tampa Bay Times reports. "Physically, I'm not in tip-top shape. I'm getting back into my game shape," Evans noted. "As far as injury-wise, I feel good. I've been running, and I feel 100 percent."

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

Now that he is past his hamstring woes, Evans indicated that his focus has turned to dropping "7 to 10 pounds," with a goal of playing at about 230 pounds this season. The rookie wideout is on track to start for the Bucs as a rookie opposite Vincent Jackson, and with his 6-5 frame, it's not hard to imagine Evans making an immediate red zone impact in the team's offense.
