Doug Brien

The Jets re-signed Brien in the offseason, so they’re happy with him. He’s a career 80.9 percent kicker, and that should get the job done if he gets 30-32 attempts. The Jets’ offense, after finishing 23rd in the league in scoring, remains an uncertainty, though bringing in Justin McCareins at the wideout spot and a full season of Chad Pennington should help.

The Jets signed Brien when John Hall left for Washington. He hasn't had a regular gig since 2000 and that concerns us. He's been an accurate kicker (career 80.3 percent), though he's played in domes the last eight years, and his new home, the Meadowlands, was not kind to John Hall (career 73.4 FG pct.). Anyone kicking for the Jets will have the opportunities to score more than 100 points, but we're not confident that Brien will be their final choice as kicker as he'll have Danny Kight in camp to possibly take his job.
