Overton is recovering from a recent life-threatening infection in his spine that required surgery, BBC.com reports. In a Facebook post over the weekend, Overton's wife wrote, "After several months off due to a herniated disc, Jeff underwent a minimally invasive procedure in hopes of improving the area. Through the procedure he acquired a life-threatening infection in his spine, forcing an emergency surgery."
Woods, who underwent fusion surgery on his back just over a month ago, is feeling much better during his recovery this time around, according to his personal blog.
Schwartzel (wrist) has withdrawn from the upcoming Dean & DeLuca Invitational, Rob Bolton of PGATour.com reports.
