Howard suffered a broken finger on his right hand during the third period of Thursday's 4-3 shootout win over Vancouver, the team's official Twitter page reports.
Andrew Brunette (LW) CHI
Brunette (upper-body injury) left Thursday night's loss to the Oilers in the second period and Hawks' coach Joel Quenneville hinted that he might miss some time on the ice, the ESPN Chicago reports.
Ray Emery (G) CHI
Emery came in the third period against the Oilers on Thursday after Corey Crawford was pulled in the 8-4 loss, and is expected to start against the Flames on Friday.
Scott Nichol (C) STL
Nichol, who left a practice earlier this week because of a family emergency, played 11 minutes Friday night in St. Louis' 1-0 win over Los Angeles.
Chris Mason (G) WPG
Mason stopped 28 of 30 shots Friday night as the Panthers bested the Jets 2-1.
