After signing a one-year deal worth $550,000 in the offseason, Yelle should enjoy a smooth transition to Carolina (from Boston). He’s an experienced center who will skate on the fourth line and help with faceoffs and the penalty kill. Still, he’ll be far more popular to the ‘Canes than fantasy owners needing a center in 2009-10.
Yelle is a solid veteran/character guy who is good at faceoffs and penalty-killing, which will help the Bruins. He doesn't score nearly enough to help fantasy owners though.
One of the elder statesmen on the Flames, Yelle had an above-average offensive season last year with 24 points. He does have trouble staying healthy, but when he's at full strength he is a quality defensive center.
Yelle is an extremely valuable veteran for the Flames, so it was no surprise that Calgary re-signed him. He scores a decent amount for a player on the checking line, but he should not be on your fantasy radar.
Yelle will do what he does best again this year and that is shutting down other teams top lines. Yelle has been one of the top face off leaders ever since he came into the league; he does not have much fantasy value, but is a great asset to the Flames.
