Zubov has left the NHL and signed with SKA St. Petersburg of the KHL, reports the TSN.ca.

ANALYSIS
He leaves the NHL after an illustrious 16-year career but he only played 10 games with Dallas in 2008-09 because of a hip injury that required surgery. He has 152 goals and 619 assists in 1068 career NHL games.

Zubov was limited to just 48 games due to a foot injury and a sports hernia, interrupting what was a Norris-caliber type start to the season. He should return to the 60+ point level with Dallas' increased team scoring.

Zubov saw his points drop a bit from his Norris-caliber 2005-06 season, but he's still a lock for around 12 goals and 55 points. A steady option from the blueline for the past decade in Dallas, expect more of the same.

Coming off a Norris Trophy Finalist season, Zubov will once again be Dallas' go to defenseman in all situations. Logs loads of minutes and isn't slowing down. Top 3 blueliner again.

Still a premier blue liner and power play quarterback, Zubov could really benefit from the new NHL. There's still a lot of good years left in his tank.
