24-Year-Old Goalie – Buffalo Sabres
Linus Ullmark Contract Information:
Signed a two-year, $1.5 million contract in June 2017.
The Sabres signed Chad Johnson on Saturday, which likely pushes Ullmark back to AHL Rochester as the organization's No. 3 goalie. John Vogl of The Buffalo News reports. "I think he could handle the backup role in the National Hockey League this upcoming year, but it's also as a young goalie, I'm a big believer that he needs to be playing," GM Jason Botterill said of Ullmark . "With the scenario of having Robin and Chad, and Ullmark in the three-hole, it's a real strength of our organization. If there are injuries along the way, we're going to be well-prepared."

RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Linus Ullmark.
Ullmark, the 2014 Swedish Hockey League Goalie of the Year, had a tough campaign last year, suffering an injury that resulted in his GAA ballooning to 3.12 and his save percentage dropping to .904. MODO wasn't a strong team and Ullmark's poor play didn't help matters, but he's still regarded as one of the world's best young goaltenders and will make his North American debut this season. He will begin his career with AHL Rochester, where he will attempt to win the starting job over Andrey Makarov to kick off his career.
