Welbeck, who left Tuesday's training session with a hamstring injury, participated in full training Thursday and he is expected to be available for Saturday's World Cup match against Italy, the Daily Mail reports.

With Wayne Rooney and Daniel Sturridge above him on the depth chart, it's unclear how much playing time Welbeck will get, even when he is fully fit. Italy pose a very daunting first test, one that doesn't figure to be high-scoring.

England may be without Welbeck (thigh) for their opening match against Italy after the striker left practice on Tuesday early, reports Sky Sports.

The England squad will leave their Brazilian training base for Manaus on Thursday. While there is a chance Welbeck could make it, the signs don't look good after leaving Tuesday's practice early with a limp.

Reports have surfaced suggesting that Welbeck is looking to leave Manchester United due to a lack of playing time, and being deployed on the wing, according to Sky Sports.

Manchester United manager David Moyes said Welbeck is really important to him and the team, and he really values the player. Welbeck has made 32 appearances this season, and came on as a second-half substitute in the 2-0 loss to Everton on Sunday.

The forward was pictured with a few other United players enjoying a night on the town hours after being defeated in the tournament. Manager David Moyes called each player involved in for discussions and forced them to do extra training work on their own in addition to the fines.

Manchester United plans to open contract discussions with a few young players, including Welbeck, in order to renew their deals before the season ends, reports the Daily Mail.

Welback has two years remaining on his current contract, and has been an influential player at times this season. An overhaul of the squad is expected this summer, but United will be anxious to secure the future of their in-house stars.

Welbeck came on for Robin van Persie in the 63rd minute and then scored in the 82nd minute of Manchester United's 3-0 win over West Brom on Saturday.

With Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney both currently healthy, Welbeck will find Premier League starts hard to come by, but there is no arguing his ability to find the back of the net. The English striker now has nine goals in 18 appearances this season.

Welbeck (knee) is available off the bench for Manchester United's Champions League clash at Olympiakos.

Welbeck's knee injury has held him out for a few weeks, but he's back at it Tuesday, although it's difficult to see him getting much time on the pitch with a healthy Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney in the starting XI.
