Leeds has made contact with Stoke about the possibility of bringing Butland to the side, reports Sky Sports.

Leeds is in search of a new goalkeeper, and Heurelho Gomes is also in the mix for a possible loan agreement. Butland will be looking to make sure he gets regular playing time ahead of selection for this summer's World Cup.

Butland leaked five goals as Stoke City fell to Liverpool on Sunday.

Butland's five saves prevented a larger scoreline, but he'll be keen to forget Sunday's performance nonetheless. With fellow keepers Asmir Begovic (finger) and Thomas Sorensen (Achilles) still out, Butland will remain the Potters' No. 1 until one of his peers returns to health.

Butland has been recalled from his loan spell at Barnsley, after Asmir Begovic suffered a broken finger in training, the BBC reports.

Thomas Sorensen has taken over the starting goalkeeper duties for Stoke, although Butland would be the next in line if anything were to happen to the new No. 1.

Butland has signed a contract reported to be around 5 million to join Stoke City after the season, ESPN Soccernet reports.

He will remain with Birmingham until the end of the Championship League season. Butland recently turned down the chance to talk to Chelsea, as the England international only wanted the opportunity for regular playing time. He is worth keeping an eye on for next season and beyond.

The Birmingham City keeper is just 19, and while he probably won't see the field in Poland and the Ukraine, it's a great experience for him and could be a warm up for the Olympics later this summer.
