Monreal has been called up for international duty with Spain Thursday, ESPN FC reports.

Monreal earns his first call-up for Spain since 2013. He has started all seven Premier League games to start the season, which may be one of the main reasons he has once again been called up.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Monreal won two tackles and secured three interceptions during Sunday's 1-0 victory over Burnley.

Monreal did not venture forward with as much regularity, as Burnley mounted some dangerous attacks on the break, but he helped his side preserve their third straight clean sheet. Monreal has been a very dependable fullback for his club and fantasy owners this season and will look to help keep his side's shutout streak alive Oct. 15 versus Swansea.

Monreal took two shots, won four tackles and made four interceptions during Wednesday's 2-0 victory over FC Basel.

Monreal was solid in what was a convincing comprehensive victory, helping the Gunners to their second clean sheet in four days. They have allowed just four goals in the last seven matches overall and will look to continue this success Sunday versus Burnley.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Monreal made three interceptions and put in three crosses during Saturday's 3-0 victory over Chelsea.

Monreal played well defensively against Chelsea's skilled wide players to help preserve the clean sheet, and he was able to support the attack at times as well. He has been a large part of Arsenal's recent defensive dominance, as they have allowed just four goals in the last six matches, and he will likely be in the starting XI again for Wednesday's Champions League match versus FC Basel.

Monreal (ankle) was not listed among the list of injured players during manager Arsene Wenger's press conference on Friday

Monreal took a kick to his ankle in Arsenal's last match before the international break, coming off in the 72nd minute, but it was never considered serious and he'll likely slot back into the starting lineup.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Monreal came off in the 72nd minute of Saturday's 3-1 victory over Watford with an ankle injury. "Monreal has a kick. It's nothing major," manager Arsene Wenger said after the match, Chris Wheatley of Gooner Talk reports.

Monreal was having a tough go of things on Saturday, facing immense pressure from Nordin Amrabat on the left side, but mostly held firm. While his injury didn't look too major, already facing something of an injury crisis and with reinforcements not-yet-arrived, Wenger was not going to take any chances and brought in Kieran Gibbs. With the international break looming, Monreal will have two weeks ahead of hosting Southampton and a stretch of seven matches in three weeks as their Champions League and League Cup campaigns kick off.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Monreal kept a clean sheet in Saturday's scoreless draw with Leicester City.

While Monreal's crossing was a bit suspect, particularly as he lofted ball after ball into the box without a target to aim at, his defense was exemplary. Faced with the stiff task of defending against Riyad Mahrez, Monreal mostly kept him at bay. When provided the cover afforded by Laurent Koscielny, he closed quickly, but found himself exposed by the still-shaky Arsenal defense too often for comfort.
