Pieters is eligible to play Saturday against Sunderland after missing the last two matches due to suspension.

Stoke have allowed four goals in each of their last three matches, so the return of Pieters will be a welcome one against a Sunderland side desperate to avoid relegation.

Pieters will be suspended for the next two matches after picking up his 10th caution of the season last weekend versus Liverpool.

The Potters will be without Pieters until the Apr. 30 match against Sunderland, forcing them to reshuffle at the back, as Marc Muniesa, Glen Johnson and Marc Wilson are all in doubt.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Pieters (calf) is out Saturday versus Watford.

That's his first missed Premier League game this season and while he's been a key cog in the Potters' side he hasn't been a major fantasy factor tallying only one assist and no goals. Marc Muniesa is starting in his spot at left back.

Pieters supplied four crosses, won a tackle and made six interceptions in Sunday's nil-nil draw with Arsenal.

The fullback made an impact at both ends of the pitch versus the first-place Gunners, helping in the clean-sheet effort while leading the club in crosses. Pieters has become a serviceable fantasy option this season as a member of the stingy Potters back line, and he could be a sneaky value play next week versus a Leicester attack that has sputtered in recent weeks.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Pieters have signed a new contract with Stoke City, Stoke Sentinel announced.

The left back has been a perfect fit for the team and one of the fan favorites since his arrival from Dutch side PSV in 2013. The extension is through the year 2020. He celebrated the signing with a clean sheet and a glorious home win over Manchester United and also added a shot off target, one cross and four total tackles. Heís also been a decent fantasy option as of late with Stoke defeated only three times in the last 11 Premier League games and picking up eight clean sheets in that span.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Pieters picked up an assist off three crosses and added three tackles in the 1-0 away win over Southampton on Saturday.

The Dutch threw a beautiful cross that found Bojanís foray behind the Saintsí defense for the winning goal. Thatís his first assist of the season and he doesnít have any goals but anyone from the defense is a decent fantasy option right now with the Potters racking up clean sheets and wins by the pound. Visiting Sunderland next week is another good match up for him.

Pieters picked up his fifth yellow card of the season Saturday against Watford, though he will serve his suspension during Tuesday's Capital One Cup match against Chelsea, which means he will be eligible to play Oct. 31 against Newcastle.

Pieters has been a regular fixtures in the starting XI, and fantasy owners are surely happy that he won't have to miss any Premier League time to due the issue. Newcastle showed some offensive bite last weekend, though they were shut out by Sunderland on Sunday, giving Pieters a decent shot at a clean sheet next weekend.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Pieters left last weekend's match against Cardiff City due to an illness, but he is expected to face Tottenham on Saturday, the Stoke Sentinel reports.

It's not a great fantasy matchup for Pieters, as Tottenham have scored 11 goals in their last three matches.
