Alston is expected to start Wednesday against Philadelphia in place of the injured Rafael Ramos (hamstring), the Orlando Sentinel reports.

The Lions use their fullbacks in the attack more than many other teams, so Alston certainly has some fantasy upside if he can connect on one of his crosses. The length of Ramos' absence hasn't been determined, so Alston could have a run of starts coming up.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Alston (hamstring) wasn't available for Saturday's game against the Fire.

Alston missed his third consecutive MLS game Saturday as he's been dealing with a hamstring injury that he picked up during match-play on July 4. New England plays next against the Dynamo on Saturday and Alston will likely be faced with a late fitness test to determine his availability.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Alston got himself into the attack to open things up with his first goal of the season in Saturday's 2-0 win over Houston.

Alston has battled through a lot to get back onto the pitch. He's an easy guy to root for. From a fantasy standpoint, there is not much there.
