Dempsey scored off a PK in the sixth minute and assisted on the third goal before being sent off in the 33rd minute of Wednesday's 5-0 win over Dallas.

Dempsey will miss Sunday's game against Cascadia rival Portland Timbers. He's injected life into the Sounders attack since re-joining the team after a successful Copa America Centenario. Dempsey is eligible to return on July 24 at Sporting Kansas City.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Dempsey (rest) is in the starting lineup Saturday against LA.

Dempsey was given rest Monday, after playing for the U.S. National team in the Copa America. he has rested enough and will be back in the starting lineup Saturday. While he has not had a strong start to the season, if he can carry over his performance from the Copa America then he could have a good second half of the season.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Dempsey is not in the lineup Saturday against Toronto in order to receive rest.

Dempsey has played in six Copa America Centenario matchs over the past month, so Head Coach Sigi Schmid is giving him some rest. He is being replaced by Aaron Kovar in the starting lineup, but Dempsey will likely be back on the field July 9 against LA.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Dempsey scored a goal on four shots (two on target) and added an assist during a 74-minute shift in USA's 2-1 win over Ecuador on Thursday.

Dempsey remains the catalyst in the US attack, and he contributed directly to the team's both goals. The Sounders FC star now has 52 goals in his career with the USMNT, and he's getting closer to Landon Donovan's all-time mark of 57. He was subbed off midway into the second half and received ice in one of his knees, but he should be ready to go for the semifinals next week.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Dempsey scored the vital winner in the 27th minute on three shots, with one on target, and committed two fouls in Copa America 1-0 win over Paraguay on Saturday.

Dempsey grabbed his 51st notch for USA - just six behind the all-time top scorer Landon Donovan with 57. His game ended prematurely with a tactical substitution due to DeAndre Yedlin's dismissal. Still, though, he gave his fantasy owners a solid production. Dempsey is a guy whose fantasy upside, when playing for the Yanks, is always high regardless of opponent. The same goes for their quarterfinals clash on Thursday.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Dempsey fired home the opening goal of Tuesday's 4-0 Copa America match with Costa Rica as well as adding a pair of assists.

Dempsey's tally, taken from the penalty spot, was his 50th international goal and set the tone for the US National Team's crucial victory. The forward also notched assists on scores from Jermaine Jones and Bobby Woods. If the veteran can continue to perform at this level, fantasy owners will certainly want to give him a look for their Copa America lineups heading into USA's meeting with Paraguay on Saturday.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Dempsey took seven shots, with two on target, but he failed to score during the United States' 2-0 loss to Colombia in the opening match of Copa America on Friday.

The Americans got little going in their attack for much of the game, and while Dempsey stepped it up in the second half, he got very little help, as Alejandro Bedoya was the only other player with more than one shot (he had two). Dempsey was on a number of free kicks, and almost scored on one if not for a great save by David Ospina, but he'll need more help if he's going to break through in the final two matches of the group stage.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Dempsey (groin) was a full participant in training Wednesday, Matt Pentz of the Seattle Times reports.

Dempsey missed last Saturday's game against Colorado with the injury, but he looks like he will be healthy enough to return Saturday against Columbus. His return will likely mean Herculez Gomez will return to the bench.
