Pienaar (hamstring) says that there is light at the end of a long, dark injury tunnel, the Liverpool Echo reports.

Pienaar has made just one Everton appearance since last December. The 33-year-old made just 11 total appearances last season, however, according to manager Roberto Martinez he'd been showing fantastic signs of improvement before his injury. He'll continue to recover as he looks to regain his fitness and see the pitch this season.

Pienaar (hamstring) is unavailable to play Saturday against West Ham.

Pienaar has yet to feature in a competitive match this season and has struggled with injuries over the past few years. Last season, he was only fit for 12 matches across all competitions, tallying two assists while not scoring a goal. The 33-year-old could return after the international break.

Pienaar (hamstring) is taking major steps forward and participated in a U21 match for Everton.

Pienaar has been featured in only one match in 2015 after a series of injuries. Manager Roberto Martinez thinks that participating in this U21 match is a great chance to test his fitness. Look for him to continue to see the U21 pitch and build up to a quick return to the senior squad.

Pienaar remains sidelined because of his hamstring injury, manager Roberto Martinez said Friday.

Pienaar has battled numerous injuries over the past few years, though his fantasy upside is quite limited in most formats even when he's fully fit.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Pienaar has been ruled out for Saturday's match against Watford because of his hamstring injury, with manager Roberto Martinez saying Wednesday that Pienaar will "be out of action for a bit longer."

Pienaar struggled with injuries last year as well, and this season is surely not starting off on the right foot. Additionally, even when he is fully fit, finding a consistent spot in the lineup will be hard to come by.

Pienaar will miss the start of the season after picking up a hamstring injury during last week's friendly against Hearts, The Guardian reports.

Pienaar played only 11 times last season because of numerous issues, though even when he's fully fit, he's not a regular starter, which makes him a very unreliable fantasy option.

Pienaar (knee) is available off the bench Saturday against Southampton.

Pienaar has been out since December with the injury and wasn't likely close to starting anyway, which keeps his fantasy value quite limited.

Pienaar (knee) has trained this week and may be available for Saturday's match against Southampton, manager Roberto Martinez said Thursday.

Pienaar has not been available for Everton since Dec. 20, coincidentally against Southampton, though he was an unused substitute. Even when he does return to full fitness, he just doesn't get enough playing time to warrant much fantasy consideration in even the deepest of formats.
