Balotelli has been off the pitch since Jan. 10 as he continues to deal with an illness, the Daily Mail reports.

Balotelli will be examined throughout the week to determine his availability for Saturday's match against West Ham. Assuming he does in fact play, he'll likely come off the bench as a reserve player, as he's done all season.

Balotelli got off four unsuccessful shots after getting subbed onto the pitch in the 67th minute of Saturday's 1-0 victory over Sunderland.

Balotelli made quick work during his short time on the pitch, although his first goal of the Premier League season still alludes him. He'll be looking to end that streak when Liverpool faces Aston Villa on Saturday.

Balotelli was subbed onto the pitch in the 79th minute of Monday's 2-1 victory over AFC Wimbledon in the FA Cup.

Balotelli managed to get off two shots during his time on the pitch, one of which was on goal, although both came up unfruitful. Next up for Liverpool is a match in Premier League competition against Sunderland on Saturday. Balotelli has only made 11 appearances during the Premier League campaign and is a risky option in Week 21 as a result.

Balotelli is eligible for Friday's match against Burnley after serving a one-game suspension for posting a racist message on his Instagram account.

Balotelli was very active in his return from a groin injury Dec. 14 against Manchester United, taking seven shots, with four on goal, after he came on at halftime. It's unclear if he'll be inserted back into the starting XI as he continues to search for his first Premier League goal this season.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Balotelli has been suspended for Sunday's Premier League match against Arsenal for posting a racist message on his Instagram account, the Independent reports.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Balotelli will not play in Wednesday's Capital One Cup match against Bournemouth after aggravating his groin injury Saturday against Manchester United, the Liverpool Echo reports.

Balotelli was left to train at Melwood with the hope that he will be available for Sunday's Premier League match against Arsenal. If he is unable to play, Rickie Lambert could start again in his place, though Liverpool went with Raheem Sterling to lead the line last weekend against United.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Balotelli, who missed more than a month with a groin injury, came on at halftime and finished with seven shots, including four on goal, during Liverpool's 3-0 loss to Manchester United.

Balotelli had a great opportunity in front of goal saved by United keeper David de Gea, who was excellent yet again. Balotelli didn't appear to be bothered by his groin at all, and he'll likely be heavily used in the coming matches as manager Brendan Rodgers continues to search for an offensive spark while Daniel Sturridge (thigh) is sidelined.
