Balotelli is headed to Liverpool after a season and a half with AC Milan, Football Italia reports.

Balotelli becomes one of many top players AC Milan have sold in recent years. Obviously eager to rid themselves of the enigmatic striker, the Rossoneri look to have sold Balotelli on a discount at the reported 16 million transfer fee. For Liverpool, it looks to be a calculated risk, with manager Brendan Rodgers betting on the 24-year-old's sky-high potential. Balotelli will likely be eased into starting alongside Daniel Sturridge, so fantasy owners will want to monitor at what price Balotelli enters the player pool.

Liverpool have reportedly agreed to a 16 million transfer fee for Balotelli, who told Sky Italia on Thursday that "Today is my last day at Milan," according to The Guardian.

Liverpool were linked with Balotelli earlier this summer, but manager Brendan Rodgers denied that any deal was close. It appears he has completely changed his mind, possibly because Milan have backed off their 20 million asking price. Balotelli is a remarkably talented striker, but on and off-the-field antics have led to a frustrating performance record. After spending three season with Inter Milan and three with Manchester City, Balotelli joined AC Milan last summer and appears close to his third team in three years.

Liverpool have opened discussions with AC Milan in an attempt to bring Balotelli back to England, reports Sky Sports.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rogers is focused on bringing a new striker to the club, and had been in pursuit of Radamel Falcao. That focus has shifted now to Balotelli.

Despite reports earlier in the summer that he was close to being sold, Balotelli will join AC Milan for its preseason tour in the United States, ESPN FC reports.

Milan play Olympiakos on July 24 in the Guinness International Champions Cup, following by matches against Manchester City and Liverpool. Balotelli was linked with Arsenal earlier this summer, but manager Arsene Wenger denied that the club was bringing the Italian striker on board. Despite his off-the-field antics, Balotelli is a gifted scorer and at 23 years old, has plenty of great football left in him.

Balotelli knocked in a header in the 50th minute to give Italy the lead for good in their 2-1 win over England in their World Cup opener on Saturday.

Balotelli took three shots on the day, with two landing on goal, and he remains an elite striker option in the World Cup. Up next is Costa Rica, who are fresh off a 3-1 win over Uruguay, on Friday, followed by Uruguay the next Tuesday.

Balotelli had a goal and an assist in AC Milan's 3-0 win over Livorno Saturday.

Italy can only hope this translates over to the World Cup, which is less than two months away.

Balotelli (shoulder) came on for Robinho in the 63rd minute of AC Milan's 0-1 loss to Udinese on Saturday.

Balotelli had missed more than two weeks with a shoulder injury, but returns just in time for Milan's Champions League match against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday. It's been a rough season for the Italian giants, but if they can score in Spain, they have a shot at advancing to the round of eight.

Balotelli has yet to return to training following the shoulder injury he picked up against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, and he will not face Juventus this weekend, ESPN FC reports.

Balotelli has not faced Juventus since the spring of 2010, and it appears that streak will continue. He struggled for much of the early part of the season, but seems to be picking it up in recent matches. The Italian striker has 10 goals and three assists in 18 Serie A matches this season.
