Villa (hamstring) will start in Saturday's game against the Earthquakes.

Villa has been sidelined with hamstring injury of late but NYC is facing elimination from the playoff race and desperately needs him on the pitch. With that, it's possible that Villa is playing while less than 100 percent, although Villa at less than full strength is still a valuable asset across all formats.

Villa (hamstring) is not in the 18-man squad to face Toronto on Wednesday.

Villa was questionable coming into the match due to the ailment, and he'll take a seat with the hope that he can recover in time to face San Jose at home on Saturday. Patrick Mullins will start against Toronto on Wednesday.

Villa exited Saturday's game against FC Dallas with a minor hamstring injury, Dallas' TV broadcast reports.

Villa was replaced by Patrick Mullins at halftime more so as a precaution than an inability to play. His status will be monitored over the coming short week of training before Wednesday's game against Toronto, but he doesn't seem to be in any danger of missing significant time off the field.

Villa took a game-high six shots, with five on target, and he scored his 14th goal of the season during NYC FC's 3-1 win over D.C. United on Thursday.

Villa continues to be everything that NYC FC wanted when they signed him last year, as his goal tally now trails only Kei Kamara (17) and Sebastian Giovinco (14) in all of MLS, while he is also third in shots and second in shots on target.

Villa scored from the penalty spot in the 68th minute and then assisted on Tommy McNamara's 85th-minute goal during New York City FC's 3-2 loss to Montreal on Saturday.

Villa finished with seven shots, including three on goal, to continue his blistering form. He now has seven goals in his last five games, and 10 in his last eight. His 13 goals are second to only Kei Kamara (15) in Major League Soccer, and he'll look to close the gap next weekend against the Red Bulls, who Villa has not scored against this season in two games.

Villa had two goals on six shots, one assist, three crosses and one foul drawn during NYC FC's 5-3 win over Orlando City on Sunday.

Villa had a tremendous bounce back game after the Revolution held him without a shot attempt last weekend. Villa has now bagged a brace in four of his last six matches, and his 12 goals on the season trail only Kei Kamara (15) and Sebastian Giovinco (12).

Villa failed to take a single shot but had five crosses and two fouls drawn during NYC FC's 1-0 loss at New England on Saturday.

Villa came into the game with four goals in his last two games and six goals in his last four, but the Revs did a great job of limiting him, which was aided after Ned Grabavoy was sent off in the 55th minute. He'll look to bounce back next Sunday against Orlando City, which should be the MLS debuts of both Frank Lampard and Andrea Pirlo.

Villa took two shots and scored twice during NYC FC's 2-1 victory at Montreal on Saturday. He also added two crosses and drew four fouls.

Villa has been in excellent form of late, scoring four goals in his last three games and six in his last six. NYC FC will get a major boost in the midfield as well, as Frank Lampard will make his debut Sunday against Toronto.
