Lescott left Aston Villa to join AEK Athens on Monday, BBC Sport reports.

The defender made 66 Premier League starts over the last two seasons split between Villa and West Brom, but he had no plans for toiling in the Championship at the age of 34. He signed a two-year contract that will see him leave English football for the first time in his professional career.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lescott headed home the opener on his lone shot, picked up a defensive clean sheet, nine clearances and led his team with five aerials won in the 2-0 win over Norwich on Saturday.

The Lescott, Jores Okore and Mark Bunn triangle in the middle of the Villans' defense has done miracles for the team's survival hopes. Aston Villa have two wins and allowed only three goals in their last five matches. Given the solid play, Lescott's spot in the starting XI finally seems secure, with Micah Richards starting at right back.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lescott had one cross, seven clearances and three aerials won in the 0-0 draw to West Brom on Saturday.

Since his ascendance to the starting team in December, Villa have only lost two of eight games and have conceded no more than one goal in six of those occasions. The team is undefeated in the last three, with one win, two clean sheets and merely one goal allowed in that period. Lescott will be put to the test, though, on Feb. 2 when visiting the Hammers.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lescott scored and kept a clean sheet in Aston Villa's 1-0 home win against Crystal Palace on Tuesday.

Once upon a time, Joleon Lescott, whilst plying his trade as a marauding left-back fur Everton, was a superb fantasy acquisition. Sadly, those days have gone but on Tuesday we saw, the goal aside, what a quality defender Lescott is. His awareness and organization of the back four was excellent-something we last saw when he signed for West Brom from Manchester City last season. He has, however, some tests ahead with Leicester visiting Villa Park next before tricky trips to West Brom and West Ham. Only time will tell if Tuesday's performance by both Villa and Lescott was a corner turned or a false dawn.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lescott scored his first goal of the season in a 1-1 draw to Southampton on Saturday.

Goals are rare for the defender, as it's his first of the season. He has very little fantasy value, considering he rarely attacks and almost never gets clean sheets. Lescott is still a good defender, just not a good fantasy option.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lescott was unused substitute in Sundayís scoreless home draw versus Manchester City.

Micah Richards should be cemented for one of the center-back positions with Richards and Ciaran Clark competing for the other one. The Irish international got the first nod, under new manager Remi Garde and at younger age and with higher upside the job seems to be his to lose. Lescott is expected to be given a chance somewhere along the way but until Clark is performing well, the ex-City manís fantasy value would diminish.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lescott signed a two-year contract with Aston Villa on Tuesday after transferring from West Brom.

Lescott was a regular starter at points last season, but he clearly didn't fit the defensive plan of West Brom manager Tony Pulis, so he'll head to Villa Park where he'll get a chance at more regular football.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lescott assisted his side's only goal in Tuesday's 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa.

Lescott headed Chris Brunt's corner into the path of striker Saido Berahino who made no mistake from inside the six yard box. Lescott has 10 clean sheets this season plus a goal and now an assist.
