Ronaldo will not play in Sunday's match against Real Sociedad because of the knee injury he suffered during the final of the European Championship, but he may be able to make his season debut 27 Aug. against Celta Vigo, Marca reports.

Ronaldo's absence is compounded by Karim Benzema's, as the Frechman continues to deal with a hip injury, which means Gareth Bale and Alvaro Morata should start Sunday.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ronaldo has been ruled out for UEFA Super Cup clash versus Sevilla on Tuesday, ESPN FC reports.

Manager Zinedine Zidane has not included Ronaldo in the group for the match as the forward has just returned from his prolonged summer vacation due to his participation in Euro 2016. Additionally, Ronaldo is still recovering from the knee injury he suffered during the Euro final versus France.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ronaldo (knee) will not play in the UEFA Super Cup against Sevilla on Aug. 9, and he is unlikely to play in Real Madrid's La Liga opener on Aug. 21 against Real Sociedad, ESPN FC reports.

Ronaldo suffered the injury during the European Championship final against France, and while he has begun his rehab, manager Zinedine Zidane said the Portuguese superstar will need at least a month before he can get back in training. Madrid have plenty of firepower outside of Ronaldo, particularly for early La Liga matches, so there's little incentive to rush him back before he's fully fit.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ronaldo (knee) scored 51 goals and added 15 assists in all competitions this season. He added another three goals and two assists during Portugal's run to the Euro 2016 title, but he did leave the final in the first half after suffering a knee injury.

Ronaldo saw a large dropoff in his La Liga production after scoring a career-high 48 league goals in 2014/15, but he made up for that by scoring a record 16 goals en route to a Champions League trophy with Los Blancos. Ronaldo is currently receiving treatment for his knee injury and it is unlikely he will be available at the beginning of next season as he rests and recovers from a busy summer.

Ronaldo scored a goal on nine shot attempts and added an assist in Wednesday's 2-0 victory over Wales.

Ronaldo forced several shots and landed just two on target, but with frustration mounting, he rose the highest and nodded home the opening goal in the 50th minute. Just two minutes later, he drilled a low ball into the box that Nani tapped home, taking the wind almost completely out of the sails of the Welsh squad. Despite an inauspicious start to the tournament, Ronaldo now has three goals and three assists through six matches, and he will look to capture his first piece of international hardware in Sunday's final versus the winner of France and Germany.

Ronaldo didn't score, but put himself in numerous favorable positions in Portugal's 1-1 win over Poland in penalties. Ronaldo finished with five shots, but couldn't find the back of the net on any of them. He scored the opening PK in penalties.

Outside of two goals against Hungary, Ronaldo hasn't found the back of the net in four other matches. He continues to find chances, but hasn't capitalized. For Portugal to advance to the final, Ronaldo will be needed against either Wales or Belgium.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ronaldo got plenty of help in the 3-3 draw against Hungary on the scoring end, but he still finished with a couple goals and an assist. As expected, Ronaldo did everything offensively for Portugal and finished with 10 shots in all.

Ronaldo hasn't had the best tournament, considering these two goals were the first for him in three games. A meeting with Croatia will be tough, but that's not to say they are unstoppable. Ronaldo will get his chances to lead Portugal to the next round.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ronaldo missed a penalty kick to help the Austrian defensive stand end successfully in an upset scoreless draw during Portugal's Euro 2016 clash Saturday. The forward finished the game with 10 shots, three on target.

Ronaldo had a second consecutive frustrating game without a score. The forward has now a total of 20 shots on goal in the tournament with only four on target, though. He is trying to score a goal in his fourth different Euro finals and will look to do that on Wednesday versus Hungary where Portugal would need to win to make sure they go through to the knock-out stage of the tournament.
