Ronaldo assisted the only goal of the game Wednesday as Real beat Atletico Madrid 1-0 in the Champions League.

Ronaldo's crossed for Chicharito to slot into an empty net as Real grabbed an 88th minute winner. The striker was at the heart of the majority of his side's attacking moves and could have scored earlier on when his strike was denied by the leg of Athletico goalkeeper Jan Oblak. Ronaldo scored his 38th league goal of the season as Real Madrid beat Eibar 3-0 Saturday.

The forward took seven shots, hitting the target three times and scoring on 21 minutes. His goal was a well struck free-kick, although Eibar goalkeeper Xabi Irureta should have done better in keeping it out. Ronaldo had a decent all-round game and played out the full 90 minutes.

Ronaldo looked like he would miss the home game against Eibar after receiving a fifth yellow card midweek. However the Spanish soccer federation has overturned the booking he got for diving in the penalty area as replays show that he was clearly fouled.

Ronaldo moved up to 36 La Liga goals for the season with an exceptional display. Firstly, he completed an eight-minute hat-trick, curling in on 30 minutes and then netting twice moments later. His fourth was a simple tap-in, though probably offside, and the forward then finished the scoring in the 89th minute.
