Pique picked up an assist and a yellow card in Barcelona's 2-0 win over Rayo Vallecano on Saturday.

Pique has been in-and-out of the starting XI this season, but has still managed to register four La Liga clean sheets, as well as another in the Champions League. The inconsistent playing time is troubling from a fantasy perspective, but he's a valuable asset when he does play.

Pique, who has been battling a hip injury of late, was an unused substitute for Barcelona's 3-2 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Pique's playing time has been very inconsistent this season, as he continues to battle with both Jeremy Mathieu and Javier Macherano. It's an unfortunate situation and one that makes him a fairly unreliable fantasy option.

Pique missed the season-opener against Elche, but posted a clean sheet over Villarreal on Aug. 31. As long as he's fit, Pique will start, though there are higher-performing defenders who get involved in the attack.

The Barca back four really struggled this season, although Pique remains one of the finer defenders in the world, and he'll be an important piece of Spain's bid to repeat at World Cup winners.
