Dawson (knock) is available off the bench for Tottenham's Premier League opener against West Ham.

Dawson is dealing with a knock and is apparently not well enough to get the starting nod. If he doesn't suffer any setbacks in training next week, he could be back in the starting lineup Aug. 24 against QPR.

Dawson returned from a hamstring injury to start and play all 90 minutes in Saturday's 1-0 win over Stoke City.

Dawson had not played since March 8 against Chelsea, but returns at the perfect time for Spurs, who continue to fight for a Europa League-qualifying finish. Up next is a trip to Upton Park to take on West Ham, before finishing the Premier League season at home against Aston Villa.

Dawson, who has been battling a hamstring injury lately, was unavailable for Saturday's match against Fulham.

Dawson (hamstring) has returned to training and has a shot at playing Saturday against Fulham, the club's official web site reports.

Dawson has not played since March 30 against Liverpool, although his hamstring injury was bothering him even before that. It's certainly encouraging that he is back in training, although it is possible he will not be 100 percent against Fulham, a team that has really struggled to score goals most of this season.

Dawson, who has been battling a hamstring injury, was an unused substitute for last weekend's Premier League match against Southampton.

Manager Tim Sherwood indicated the week before that Dawson would miss a "couple of games," although it was a good sign that he was at least available off the bench against Southampton. It's unclear if he'll get any playing time this weekend, although it's a tough matchup against Liverpool at Anfield.

Dawson picked up his injury against Chelsea last weekend and had to come off as a result. His absence comes at a very tough time for Spurs, who will host Arsenal and Southampton before traveling to Anfield to take on Liverpool.

Dawson suffered a hamstring injury during Saturday's Premier League match against Chelsea.

Dawson was subbed off in the 72nd minute due to the injury, although the issue did not appear to be a serious one. Tottenham were down 0-2 at the time, but gave up two goals to Demba Ba after Dawson left to leave Spurs with a brutal 0-4 loss.
