Fabregas converted a penalty kick in Sunday's 1-1 draw with Leicester City.

Capping off an underwhelming season, Fabregas converted a penalty kick for his fifth goal in the Premier League this season to go along with seven assists in 37 matches after picking up 19 assists last season. With Chelsea due for sweeping changes next season, Fabregas will asked to play a much different role next season, even if he's most comfortable in a floating No. 10 role where his defensive responsibilities are mostly shirked.

Fabregas scored twice on five total shots in Saturday's 2-2 draw with West Ham.

It was the most productive and eventful day in what's been a rough year for Fabregas. His first goal came off a magnificent free kick in the first half, and his second was a late penalty which he calmly netted to secure Chelsea's draw. Though he was a top choice midfielder a season ago, with only four goals and four assists this season, it's hard to envision more performances like this in the near future.

Fabregas scored a goal on two shots (one on target) in Saturday's 2-1 victory over Southampton.

After 75 scoreless minutes, Fabregas played a ball toward Eden Hazard in the box, but managed to catch keeper Fraser Forster flat-footed and found the back of the net himself. In what's been a tough season for the attacking-minded midfielder, he now has two goals and two assists in his past six matches after no goals and two assists in his first 20 in the Premier League.

Fabregas tallied an assist in Saturday's 5-1 victory over Newcastle.

In a match where there was a bevy of open space, Fabregas looked like the Fabregas of yore, where he could seek out the tightest of angles to provide inch-perfect passes. After 19 assists last season, this was just his fourth this season as Chelsea's attacking quality has diminished, despite virtually an identical roster.

Fabregas scored a goal on three shots (two on target) and tallied an assist in Saturday's 3-3 draw with Everton.

For all of Fabregas' defensive flaws—for which he has many—he's one of the most creative players on the ball. While he hasn't shown that this season, coming into the match with no goals and two assists in 20 Premier League matches, but flashed the skill he'd shown at Arsenal, Barcelona and previously at Chelsea. An in-form Fabregas could mean big things for the Blues, but will need to show more than one half of strong play to convince fans that he's back to being a permanent fixture of the starting XI.
