Taylor (leg) was unused sub in Saturday's 1-0 win over Crystal Palace.

Taylor only made it back to the bench but even when he's fully health he'll probably stay there with Jamaal Lascelles playing very well at center back which will limit the former's fantasy upside significantly.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Taylor (muscular injury) didn't make the 18-man squad in Tuesday's 1-1 draw versus Man City.

The 30-year-old defender has found playing time hard to come by this year and also as part of the second-worst defense in the league he isn't much of a fantasy factor, anyways.

Taylor (muscular injury) will not play Saturday against Swansea City, manager Rafa Benitez said Friday.

The Magpies' defense has really struggled this season, so Taylor's injury absence isn't likely to cause many fantasy adjustments.

Taylor (hamstring) is available off the bench Saturday against Watford.

A defender on the bench isn't likely to provide much fantasy value, especially one that has been out for months.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Taylor is expected to return to training in mid-January as he works his way back from a hamstring injury, The Shields Gazette reports.

Taylor has been out ever since suffering the muscle tear in August, but he is progressing toward a return to the first team. He will likely need a couple of weeks of training under his belt to ensure that his fitness is up to par before returning to game action, making a return at the end of January a possible target.

Taylor (hamstring) is unlikely to make a return until after the new year, the Chronicle Live reports.

Following Taylor's operation on his hamstring, he'll be out until after the new year most likely. He's only been featured in two Premier League fixtures this season, and both came early on in the season before his lengthy absence. Continuing to recover, he'll hope to make a return to full fitness and rejoin the first team around the new year.

Taylor has missed the last two Barclays Premier League fixtures, before coach Steve McClaren confirmed that he had surgery on his hamstring. He's looking to be out for a few months in order to recover from the operation.

Taylor is expected to miss the rest of the season after suffering a severe Achilles injury during Thursday's match against Burnley, the Chronicle reports.

Taylor was seen using crutches and wearing a walking boot after the match, one in while he scored his first goal of the season. Fabricio Coloccini and Mike Williamson are now the only centrebacks left on the senior squad.
