Ribery suffered a muscular injury in training Friday and will be out for the rest of October, reports ESPN FC.

Ribery has played well this season for the defending champions with five assists and two goals in five Bundesliga appearances. His extended absence comes at a time when Bayern Munich are struggling to secure three points and have Champions League football to contend with as well. Arjen Robben or Kinglsey Coman should earn the start in Ribery's place.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ribery tallied an assist and was issued a yellow card as a substitute in Saturday's 1-0 victory over Hamburg.

The mercurial winger came off the bench for the first time in Bundesliga play this season but made an impact regardless. While the quality of teams they've played has been suspect, RIbery's numbers are eye-popping nonetheless. In eight matches across all comps (all wins), Ribery has two goals and eight assists including five in the Bundesliga. Ribery will face a much stiffer defensive test on Wednesday in Bayern's Champions League match at Atletico Madrid.

Ribery took two shots and scored a goal in Wednesday's 3-0 win against Hertha Berlin. He also played three key passes and four crosses before coming off in the 76th minute.

Ribery found the scoresheet once again and now has two goals and four assists in the first four Bundesliga matches. He also has an assist in one Champions League appearance off the bench. Bayern Munich have a wealth of talent and plenty of depth, but Ribery seems to have cemented a spot in the starting XI. Bayern Munich face a struggling Hamburger SV side this Saturday. Ribery should be started by fantasy owners.

Ribery completed three dribbles, won a single aerial duel, took four corners, and assisted on three goals in Saturday's 3-1 win over Ingolstadt.

Ribery supplied Robert Lewandowski, Xabi Alonso, and Rafinha with assists, though each goal was a spectacular piece of individual skill from each goalscorer. If Ribery is in the starting XI, he must be considered for fantasy purposes.

Ribery came on in the 64th minute and picked up an assist in Tuesday's 5-0 win against Rostov.

Ribery hasn't seen much time over the last couple seasons due to injury, but the 33-year-old looks healthy for the time being and is even getting time in Champions League play.

Ribery scored a goal and provided an assist in Friday's 6-0 win against Werder Bremen. He played the full 90 minutes, put two of his three shots on target, and played two key passes.

Ribery put in a stellar performance in Bayern's rout of depleted Werder Bremen. Fantasy owners will be pleased that he was able to play the entire match, and he could be in line for another start after the international break when Bayern Munich face Schalke 04 on 9 Sept.

Ribery (groin) is starting on Friday against Werder Bremen.

Ribery was carrying a groin injury during preseason, but he has trained enough to grab a spot in the first XI on Friday. Ribery lost most of last season due to injury, and while it's encouraging that he's fit now, he is usually one of the first players subbed off to ensure he doesn't hurt himself again.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ribery (groin) took part in a portion of team training Tuesday.

Ribery appears to be inching closer to a return and will likely face a late fitness test prior to the Bundesliga opener against Werder Bremen. The veteran midfielder made just 20 appearances in all competitions for Bayern Munich and was utilised almost exclusively in the Champions League, despite logging zero goals and just 14 key passes in those outings. With a potential lack of inclusion in the starting XI, fantasy owners may want to look elsewhere for midfield options.
