Ribery, who scored his first goal of the Bundesliga season in Saturday's 2-0 win over Stuttgart, will not play in Bayern Munich's Champions League match against Manchester City on Wednesday due to a knee injury, ESPN FC reports. Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola said "Franck is not here, he is home. He went to the doctor on Monday and today (Tuesday) they told me he cannot play."

Ribery has struggled with injuries this summer, as he missed the World Cup with a back injury. It is unclear if he suffered a setback with his knee during Saturday's match or if he's just not fit enough to play, but either way he could miss Saturday's Bundesliga match against Hamburg SV as well.

Ribery, who was limited to only 18 Bundesliga matches this season due to various injuries, finished with 10 goals and 10 assists, joining Marco Reus, Roberto Firmino and Thomas Muller as the only players in Germany with double-digit goals and assists.

Ribery is one of the best players on the planet and will continue to be a vital piece of the Bayern attack for years to come. He is also an important cog for France's World Cup title chances this summer in Brazil.
