For the second straight game Messi recorded a goal and two assists as Argentina dominated the United States in a 4-0 win Tuesday. Messi's goal came on a free kick and the USA had no answer for him all match.

There's not much more to say about Messi as he now has five goals in Copa America. He'll likely be the most used fantasy player when Argentina plays in the final.

Messi bagged a goal on five shots (two on target), assisted twice and drew six fouls against himself in Saturday's 4-1 Copa America Centenario drubbing of Venezuela.

It was business as usual for the modern day king of football. Messi harassed endlessly the Venezuelan defense in his first start of the tournament. Besides his endless runs that had to be stopped only with fouls, he made a couple of fantastic passes for his second and third assists of the tournament and made a breathtaking 1-2 combination with Nicolas Gaitan for his fourth goal of the campaign. The Barca man will face the stalwart defense of the USA at the semifinals Tuesday.

Messi may not start Tuesday against Bolivia despite returning from a back injury last week against Panama, ESPN FC reports.

Messi bagged a hat trick in less than 30 minutes off the bench against Panama, but he's apparently still not 100 percent, and with Argentina all but certain to finish top of the group, Messi won't be forced in. His continued absence could allow Sergio Aguero a start, with Gonzalo Higuain struggling a bit.

Messi (back) returned from injury in the 60th minute, netting a hat trick on three shots in Argentina's 5-0 romp over Panama on Friday.

Messi came on with 30 minutes left in the game and immediately conquered the bravely defending 10-man Panamanians. He scored three magical goals and provided a brilliant cross to set up the fifth goal for Los Gauchos. Even with Argentina having qualified for the quarterfinals, expect Messi to be involved against Bolivia on Tuesday in their final group stage match.

Manager Gerardo Martino said he expects Messi (back) will be ready to play in four days, Juan G. Arango of ESPN reports.

Messi wasn't able to play Monday against Chile due to a lower back bruise. This means that Messi is likely to be ready for Friday's match against Panama. There will likely be more updates on his status as Friday gets closer.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Messi (back) was questionable for Monday's match against Chile and ended up missing the starting XI.

It was still an unknown if Messi would play as of Sunday, so he may either be used as a substitute or simply held out for a couple more days of rest before Argentina's next match Friday against Panama.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Messi's (back) participation in training Sunday will help determine whether he will be fit to play in Monday's Copa America match against Chile, according to manager Gerardo Martino.

Messi injured his back in a friendly against Honduras over a week ago, and while his absence would surely be a blow to the Argentina attack, they still have plenty of fire power up front with the likes of Gonzalo Higuain and Sergio Aguero.
