Messi missed from the penalty spot in the 31st minute, but still finished with four shots, including two on goal, during Barcelona's 1-0 win over Athletic Club on Sunday.

Messi missing a penalty is nothing new, but he's still likely to take them for Barcelona when the time comes. One missed penalty hurts for fantasy purposes this week, but Messi remains arguably the best player in the world.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Messi enjoyed another incredible season as he scored 58 goals and supplied 23 assists in all competitions.

After a down season by his standards (if you can say that about 36 goals) Messi was at his best again this time around and racked up an incredible 17 multi-goal games en route to the treble. There is seemingly not enough money in the world for a club to pry the Argentine away from Barcelona and he will be back in action for the Spanish giants next season.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Messi was held off of the scoresheet in Barcelona's 3-2 loss to Bayern Munich on Tuesday, attempting two shots as his team held on to advance.

The Argentine was actually directly involved in both of Barca's goals, but Luis Suarez unselfishly decided to pass to a wide open Neymar on each occasion, denying Messi a pair of assists. While this is a tough pill to swallow for fantasy owners, Messi will not care one iota as he makes his return to the Champions League Final. He is still a top play every time out and will look to get back on the board versus Atletico Madrid this weekend.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Messi was dominant in Barcelona's 3-0 win over Bayern Munich on Wednesday, scoring two goals and setting up Neymar for the third.

The Argentine magician cut in and smashed a low shot to the near post in the 77th minute and struck again three minutes later, undressing Jerome Boateng in a one-on-one situation before chipping Manuel Neuer. After assisting on Neymar's stoppage time breakaway goal, Messi now has 10 goals and five assists in just 11 Champions League matches this season. Barcelona will next take on Real Sociedad on Saturday in La Liga play.

Messi fired off four shots and scored in the 25th minute of Barcelona's 2-0 win over Espanyol on Saturday.

Another game, another goal for Messi, who now has 36 in just 32 league matches this season. Barcelona now face a quick turnaround and will next take on Getafe on Tuesday.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Messi rattled off five shots, drew three fouls and picked up an assist in Barcelona's 2-1 El Clasico victory on Sunday.

Another game without a goal for Messi, but he was excellent once again and picked up his league-leading 15th assist on the season. Messi now has 10 goals and six assists in his last 10 matches and will terrorize the Celta Vigo defense when Barca faces them on April 5.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Messi had three goals and an assist during Barcelona's 6-1 win over Rayo Vallecano on Sunday, moving ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo for most hat tricks in La Liga history.

Messi's hat trick moved him to 30 goals on the season, another impressive total in 26 appearances. Messi is also tied with Ronaldo for the La Liga goal lead this season, and his 14 assists are four ahead of the Real Madrid star.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Messi took a game-high six shots, with three on target, and scored his 27th goal of the season during Barcelona's 3-1 win over Granada on Saturday.

The goal came as a gift from teammate Luis Suarez, who had a wide open goal to himself but decided to dump off a pass to Messi to grab the score himself. Messi now has seven goals in his last nine games in all competitions, and he's now just two goals behind Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo for the league lead.
