Benzema rattled off six shots, provided two crosses and scored the tying goal in the 71st minute of Sunday's 1-1 draw with Betis.

While Los Blancos failed to match the five goals they netted in each of the two previous matches, Benzema remained red hot, scoring his sixth goal to go along with an assist over the last four. Benzema has broken out as an extremely consistent goal scorer this season, and his 21 goals in just 18 starts easily represent the best strike-rate of his Madrid career. He is unlikely to reach double-digit assists this season, a feat he has managed in each of the last four campaigns, but that is likely of little consequence with so many other playmakers around him. As such, Benzema will look to continue his latest goal-scoring tear Sunday against Espanyol.

Benzema fired off three shots, made a pair of key passes and scored the opening goal in Sunday's 2-2 draw with Valencia.

The Frenchman has been on fire of late, as he now has nine goals in his last six matches in all competitions. After playing the role of provider over the last few seasons at the expense of his goal totals, Benzema is on pace to shatter his personal best for goals per game at Real Madrid this season, as he now sits at 16 goals in just 15 starts. Real Madrid's unimpressive form led to the firing of Rafael Benetiz on Monday, but Benzema should remain a huge part of new manager Zinedine Zidane's plans, beginning with Saturday's match versus Deportivo.
