Olsson won a tackle, blocked a shot and made a pair of interceptions in Sunday's 1-0 win over Manchester United.

The large defender was absent from the offensive end of the pitch yet again, but his sound positional play was important as the Baggies pulled off another good result. This is usually the case for Olsson, limiting him for the most part to a mere cost-saving matchup play in fantasy terms.

Jamie Vardy's excellent play of late, not to mention a number of upper-tier forwards not playing Premier League matches this weekend, easily puts him atop one of the positional rankings.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Olsson had a team-high eight clearances, four aerials won and two fouls in the Saturday's 3-2 win over Crystal Palace.

It was a fairly poor performance from the stalwart center-half as the Baggies barely survived a surge from Palace in the second half. He had a crucial mistake for one of the goals but it seems like his starting spot is secured for a while with what seemed to be a serious long-term injury that Chris Brunt suffered in the first half. Jonny Evans is still also struggling to gain match fitness. The 32-year-old could be a danger on set-pieces but he's only managed to score one goal and add an assist in 20 Premier League appearances.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Olsson picked up an assist and a clean sheet in the 1-0 victory over Everton on Saturday.

The Baggies fended off 33 total shots (two off the post), 14 corners and picked up a priceless win despite only 27 percent of the possession. Olsson was the best defender and he could've had a stellar fantasy outcome. His header was just about to cross the goal line when Salomon Rondon took a touch on the ball and snatched the credit for the winner.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Olsson had a team-leading three blocked shots, six clearances and three interceptions in the 0-0 draw to Aston Villa on Saturday.

West Brom defensive rearguard have been fairly solid fantasy performers throughout the season. They have tallied eight clean sheets with only one loss in the last five games. Olsson isn't a regular starter but he's always the next man up when somebody from the defense falls down. He has one goal and three yellow cards and with a solid keeper behind his back and with a favorable matchup he could be a decent and cheap fantasy option if called upon duty.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Olsson (hamstring) is starting Saturday against Southampton.

Olsson's fantasy value is a bit limited given that he's a centerback of a squad that hasn't played particularly well of late, though a Tony Pulis defense always has to be considered.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Olsson is being monitored ahead of Saturday's match versus Southampton after recently returning from a hamstring injury.

The center-half returned from a two-week absence on Wednesday against Chelsea, and he was able to play 90 minutes in the draw. As such, Olsson appears set to start once again versus the Saints, although he will likely need to pass a late fitness test.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Olsson came off in the 16th minute of Monday's match against West Brom due to injury, according to the Newcastle Chronicle.

Olsson has been a consistent starter for the Baggies, and while the clean sheets haven't been that plentiful, he has been active on set pieces recently. Craig Gardner replaced him Monday but is unlikely to be the long-term substitute if Olsson has to miss additional time.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Olsson scored a goal off his lone shot also adding team-leading 10 clearances and two blocked shots in the brave 2-2 draw with Liverpool on Sunday.

The Swedish made a beautiful header for his first goal of the season meeting a Chris Bruntís corner. He connected with Brunt once more before that but the goal was disallowed for offside. That was Olssonís best game of the season but donít get too excited about him since he may be going back to the bench with the return of Claudio Yacob.
