Lavezzi started and scored in the 40th minute of Paris Saint-Germain's draw with Caen on Saturday.

Lavezzi has now scored in both of his past two league starts, giving him four goals on the season. Given that recent success, Lavezzi will hope to earn a starting birth for Tuesday's colossal Champions League match versus Chelsea, or at the very least, this weekend's Ligue 1 tie against Toulouse.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lavezzi capped-off an exquisite passing sequence to score the deciding goal in Paris Saint-Germain's 1-0 win over Rennes on Friday.

Lavezzi was involved in a mesmerizing string of passes that ultimately set up the Argentine to score the lone goal in Friday's contest. In doing so, Lavezzi notched his first goal since late November, which could help earn him the sort of consistent playing time he's been desperate to receive so far this season.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lavezzi, along with teammate Edinson Cavani, has been suspended for the next two matches for returning late from a holiday break and missing a training camp in Morocco, the BBC reports.

Lavezzi has had trouble getting consistent playing time this season when both Cavani and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are fit, and skipping a training camp to spend more time with his family at home surely won't win him any more minutes. Ibrahimovic will lead the line in their absences, possibly joined by Jean-Cristophe Bahebeck.

Lavezzi was credited with the assist on Paris Saint-Germain's first goal Tuesday in the squad's 3-1 Champions League victory over Ajax.

Tuesday was Lavezzi's second start in the group stages of Champions League play since returning from a hamstring injury and he responded nicely.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lavezzi will be sidelined for up to three weeks after suffering a right hamstring tear during PSG's Ligue 1 match against Caen last Wednesday.

Lavezzi could have been headed for more playing time with Zlatan Ibrahimovic sidelined with a heel injury, but now he'll be sidelined himself at least through the international break. Lavezzi is still looking for his first goal of the season, as he's disappointingly taken just one shot in five league matches thus far.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lavezzi could be inserted into the starting XI in place of Sergio Aguero (thigh) for Argentina's round of 16 match against Switzerland at the World Cup on Tuesday, ESPN FC reports.

Lavezzi has been a solid contributor for Argentina and could really benefit from more playing time with Lionel Messi and Gonzalo Higuain. Aguero could be out for the entire World Cup with his latest issue, leaving Lavezzi with plenty of fantasy value potential from here on out.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lavezzi came on in the 77th minute and then assisted on Lionel Messi's game-winner one minute into stoppage time during Argentina's 1-0 win over Iran in the World Cup on Saturday.

The assist was quite generous, as Lavezzi was simply the last pass to Messi before he dribbled for a number of steps and unleashed a shot that found the back of the net with only minutes to spare. Argentina clinched a spot in the knockout stage with the win, and can wrap up the top spot in the group with a result against Nigeria on Wednesday.

Lavezzi bagged two goals Saturday, when PSG defeated Bastia 3-0.

Lavezzi has been in great form of late, evidenced by four goals in his past four league games. With that, the Argentine is doing his best to hold down a starting position even with Edinson Cavani back healthy.
