RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Campbell could start Saturday against Leicester City, with Dwight Gayle suspended and Connor Wickham (calf) injured, the Croydon Advertiser reports.

Campbell will compete in training this week with Patrick Bamford, who is on loan from Chelsea and won the Championship Player of the Year Award last season with Middlesbrough. Bamford likely has more upside, though manager Alan Pardew has only played him twice off the bench in league play this season.

Campbell (hamstring) is available off the bench Saturday against Manchester City.

With Patrick Bamford and Connor Wickham not in the 18-man squad, Campbell will slot in on the bench, though he wasn't a great fantasy play to begin with.

Campbell (hamstring) limped off early after sustaining a hamstring injury in Monday's friendly defeat to Dagenham & Redbridge.

Campbell (hamstring) missed large swathes of last season due to a similar injury and Ben Dinnery, an injury data analyst, tweeted that Campbell will have a scan to determine the extent of the injury. Campbell's injury could mean that Dwight Gayle is kept at the club despite interest from Fulham regarding a loan move.

Manager Alan Pardew said Thursday that Campbell will be out for 5-to-6 weeks because of his hamstring injury.

Palace are dealing with a number of issues up front, as Marouane Chamakh and Yaya Sanogo are also out with hamstring injury, leaving Dwight Gayle and possibly Wilfried Zaha to lead the attack.

Campbell scored a 71st minute equaliser in Wednesday's 1-1 draw against Newcastle.

Campbell was on hand to slide the ball home from six yards out after a delightful cross from Yannick Bolasie. It was Campbell's first goal since October after he replaced the injured Yaya Sanogo (hamstring) in the first half. Campbell now has four goals on the season and could be chosen Saturday against Liverpool in the FA Cup.

Campbell has failed to find the net in three months.

Campbell managed three goals in the early weeks of the season and it has been nine appearances since he last netted for Crystal Palace.

Campbell dropped to the substitute's bench for Sunday's 3-1 win over Liverpool.

Campbell was replaced by Dwight Gayle, who scored Palace's first goal, and didn't make an appearance off the bench. Campbell hasn't scored since Oct. 19 and should stay on the bench for next Saturday's visit to Swansea.
