Gibbs (hip) played a full match in Saturday's 3-0 victory over Burnley. He picked up an assist on Arsenal's final score.

It's encouraging to see Gibbs log a complete game given his recent hip injury. Until we hear differently, we'll assume he's close to 100 percent.

Manager Arsene Wenger said Thursday that Gibbs (hip) is still an injury doubt for Saturday's match against Burnley, but his participation in training Friday will help make the decision.

Arsenal have been hit hard in the back, as they are already without Mathieu Debuchy (ankle) and Laurent Koscielny (Achilles), so losing Gibbs only adds to the issues. If he is unable to play, Arsenal could move a number of different pieces around, possibly giving a start to Hector Bellerin.

Arsenal feel Gibbs could potentially return from a hip injury in time to face Burnley on Saturday, according to the Daily Mail.

The defender injured his hip against Sunderland last weekend. He is being assessed by the medical staff, but early indications suggest the knock won't keep him out for too long.

Gibbs suffered a hip injury in Saturday's 2-0 victory at Sunderland, eventually leaving the game in the 74th minute.

Gibbs's absence was certainly felt - Hector Bellerin played rather poorly in his stead. No word yet on how much time Gibbs could miss. He was dealing with a nagging hamstring problem earlier this year.

Gibbs recovered from his hamstring injury but he was an unused substitute for Arsenal's 2-2 draw with Manchester City.

Gibbs is expected to get the start in Arsenal's Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday with Nacho Monreal sidelined with a back injury. Manager Arsene Wenger said Monreal could return to training Friday, though Gibbs is still in the driver's seat to start against Aston Villa on Saturday.

Gibbs (hamstring) is back in normal training and should be available for Arsenal's Premier League match against Manchester City on Saturday.

Gibbs has not played since suffering the injury in the Premier League opener against Crystal Palace, but it looks like he's finding ready to get back in the starting XI.

Gibbs (hamstring) is not expected to return until after the international break, manager Arsene Wenger said Tuesday.

Gibbs suffered the injury during Arsenal's Premier League opener against Crystal Palace and was originally given a two-to-three week timetable for return, which he will blow through before the international break. The Gunners face Manchester City at home on Sept. 13, but if Gibbs cannot return by then, he may be able to face Aston Villa on Sept. 20.

Gibbs is expected to miss 2-3 weeks with his hamstring injury, according to James Olley of the London Evening Standard.

Nacho Monreal replaced Gibbs in Saturday's victory over Crystal Palace, and might be a de-facto starter going forward. Gibbs is a respected starter but probably the weakest player on Arsenal's back line - the defense shouldn't have a major drop-off with Gibbs out.
