Kolarov picked up a defensive clean sheet, three aerials won, one dribble and one clearance in 12 minutes off the bench in the 1-0 away win over Sunderland on Tuesday.

Kolarov endured a quiet return from his calf injury, although, he should be ready to go full swing on Saturday versus Leicester. With the game having a strong title flavor Kolarov should be right back in the starting XI pushing Gael Clichy back to the bench. The former is probably the best fantasy weapon from the Citizens' rearguard. He's already got two goals and two assists on the season and is producing an average of 1.5 shots, just short of two key passes and a combined total of four crosses and long balls per game to make him a potential fantasy outburst on any given game.

Despite a matchup against league-leaders Leicester City, Mesut Ozil garnered a first-place vote among midfielders, but was it enough to give him the top spot in the composite ranking?

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Kolarov (calf) will be available off the bench versus Sunderland on Tuesday.

Kolarov wasn't deemed fit enough to make a full game and his fantasy upside for this game off the bench will be very limited. Gael Clichy is grabbing another start.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Kolarov (calf) is fit to play Tuesday against Sunderland.

Kolarov suffered the injury in mid-January and had been replaced by Gael Clichy. Given the opposition, it's not out of the question that Clichy could get another start, though Kolarov represents significantly more fantasy upside given his offensive capabilities.

Kolarov (calf) may be able to return to training next week, manager Manuel Pellegrini said Friday.

If Kolarov is able to train early next week, he'll have a shot at playing Tuesday against Sunderland, though that seems like quite a long shot. The more likely scenario is that he could play Feb. 6 against Leicester City, a huge game in the title race. Gael Clichy is expected to continue to start while Kolarov is out.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Kolarov (calf) will miss Saturday's match against West Ham. "Aleks has a muscle injury in his calf—not very big. I hope at the end of the next week he'll be working with the squad," manager Manuel Pellegrini said.

The fantasy standout at left back was withdrawn on 52 minutes thanks to a calf injury in the team's last match. While it doesn't appear to be too serious, the Serbian has been excellent this season at pumping crosses into the box and has been rewarded with two goals and two assists in 19 Premier League matches for his efforts. Gael Clichy will likely fill in at left back in his place.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Kolarov was taken off in the 52nd minute of Saturday's match against Crystal Palace because of a calf injury, according to manager Manuel Pellegrini. "Aleks had a kick in his calf," Pellegrini said. "We don't know if it's a muscle injury or just a kick."

Kolarov has been a fantastic fantasy option this season, so any potential absence would certainly be a big hit. Gael Clichy came on for Kolarov during Saturday's match and would most likely start for him if he has to miss any time.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Kolarov took two shots, made a pair of key passes, put in 11 crosses and made two interceptions in Tuesday's goalless draw with Leicester.

It was a strong all-around showing for the Serbain, who went forward with his typical aplomb and still managed to pitch in to a clean sheet versus the high-scoring Foxes. Kolarov is an elite fantasy defender due to the regularity of these types of performances, and he should be an attractive play once again for Saturday's match versus Watford.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Kolarov is available off the bench Saturday against Swansea City.

There doesn't appear to be any injury for Kolarov, so he's likely simply being rested in favor of Gael Clichy.
