Henderson will miss the rest of the season because of the knee injury he suffered in Thursday's Europa League match against Borussia Dortmund, manager Jurgen Klopp confirmed Friday.

Henderson is expected to be sidelined for six-to-eight weeks, and if his recovery takes any longer than that, he could be in danger of missing the European Championships this summer.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Henderson suffered a potentially serious knee injury during Thursday's Europa League match against Borussia Dortmund, according to manager Jurgen Klopp.

Henderson hasn't been a great fantasy option this season despite Liverpool's high-scoring attack, but he's still a vital piece of the midfield. Joe Allen is likely to get a consistent run of starts if Henderson's injury is confirmed to be serious.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Henderson (illness) is available off the bench Sunday against Southampton.

Liverpool are also without Roberto Fimino (hamstring) and James Milner (suspension) on Sunday, leaving them a bit light in the midfield.

Henderson won six tackles, put in four crosses and earned an assist in Sunday's 6-0 win over Aston Villa.

Henderson was able to concentrate on defensive and distribution duties with the front three of Daniel Sturridge, Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho in top gear, but he was still able to earn his third assist of the season on a pinpoint cross to Kolo Toure. The skipper will likely continue to operate in such a role, but he has proven himself capable of providing modest fantasy returns. However, he will face a tough matchup in Liverpool's next league match on Feb. 28 versus Manchester City.

Henderson (foot) is starting Tuesday against Leicester City.

Henderson did not play in last weekend's FA Cup match against West Ham due to the injury, though he was never expected to miss a considerable amount of time. Leicester have been fairly solid defensively of late, though Liverpool scored five times in their last Premier League match, which came against Norwich City.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Henderson is set to miss Saturday's FA Cup match versus West Ham because of a foot injury, the International Business Times reports.

The skipper scored versus Norwich last weekend, but he was withdrawn in the 75th minute and then missed Tuesday's Capital One Cup match versus Stoke City. Joe Allen entered the midfield picture in Henderson's absence and would be a good bet to do so once again Saturday.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Henderson scored in Liverpool's 5-4 win against Norwich City at Carrow Road on Saturday.

Henderson has been a bit of a hit-or-miss fantasy option when fit this season, but he seems to have a regular spot in manager Jurgen Klopp's starting XI, and with the way the Reds are attacking of late, Henderson could continue to be on the scoresheet.
