Clark made team-leading 11 clearances and added two blocked shots en route to a defensive clean sheet in Sundayís scoreless home draw versus Manchester City.

The Irish international got the first nod, under new manager Remi Garde, for the starting center-back over Joleon Lescott. Thatís his third straight start since his return and heís been solid. Micah Richards is probably cemented for the other position but expect somewhere along the way new man Garde to give a chance to Lescott too. Consider that Clark is just a caution away from his fifth booking and an automatic one-game suspension subsequently.

Clark (quad) is not in the 18-man squad to face Swansea City on Saturday.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Clark (quad) has been deemed fit for Saturday's match against Swansea City.

It was believed that Clark would return to fitness over the international break, but he was unavailable for last weekend's match against Chelsea due to the ailment. However, a return to full training this week could get him back in the starting XI, likely at the expense of Joleon Lescott.

Clark is expected to compete for his starting spot when he's back fit, but Micah Richards and Joleon Lescott will hold down the centerback spots until he does.

Clark (knee) has been ruled out for Saturday's match against West Ham.

Clark wasn't a big fantasy contributor before going down with the injury, though Villa are a big light since Nathan Baker is sidelined as well. Ron Vlaar and Jores Okore will likely continue to start.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Clark suffered a knock early in the first half of Saturday's match against Spurs and had to come off for Nathan Baker.

It appeared that Clark was having the physios look at his knee, though it was unclear when exactly he suffered the injury. He'll likely undergo additional scans in the coming days to help determine the severity and the length of his absence.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

While Aston Villa ultimately lost 2-1 on Saturday, Clark was a defensive star against Chelsea, finishing with a game-high 15 clearances, two tackles, two blocked shots and two clearances in 90 minutes.

A fine performance for Clark, though the Chelsea attack was simply too strong by the end of the day. After posting back-to-back clean sheets, Clark has now been part of three consecutive Premier League losses, though he's got a decent shot at bouncing back Tuesday at Hull City.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Clark recorded his first goal of the season against Leicester City on Sunday.

Clark has only played in eight games this season but has now registered one assist and one goal over that stretch of time. It's unlikely that he'll get many more goal-scoring opportunities this season as a defender, however.
