Cerci started just seven of his 16 appearances for Milan after arriving on loan from Atletico Madrid in January, scoring a goal with four assists in Serie A.

The 27-year-old struggled to make an impact at each of his clubs this season and never strung together any consistent stretches of quality. Cerci intends to remain with Milan until his loan deal expires in 2016 but the Italian club is rumored to be cutting the agreement short, in which case he would rejoin Atletico next season.

Cerci's lone shot attempt landed on goal, but he was unable to score and his two-game assist streak came to an end during Milan's 1-1 draw with Empoli on Sunday.

Cerci has made six appearances since coming over from Atletico Madrid early in January, and while he's still not getting consistent starts, he's certainly making the most of his opportunities.

Cerci failed to make it on the pitch during Atletico Madrid's 2-0 win over Elche on Saturday, the sixth time in the last eight matches in all club competitions that he's been an unused substitute.

Certainly more was expected from Cerci after he posted 13 goals and 10 assists last season for Torino, but he just hasn't found a way into the Atletico rotation this season and remains a very limited fantasy options, even in the deepest leagues.

Cerci subbed on for Antoine Griezmann in the 66th minute and picked up two yellow cards, getting sent off in two minutes into stoppage time during Atletico Madrid's 3-1 loss to Valencia on Saturday.

Cerci's second yellow card came after he thought he had scored a late consolation goal but instead was sent off for a handball. He'll now miss Atletico's match against Espanyol before being eligible to return Oct. 26 at Getafe.
