Cameron (thigh) will miss Saturday's match against Newcastle.

Cameron looks like he'll be available for the following week's fixture against Chelsea, but needs another few days before he can return to the squad. The 30-year-old American has started each of the first 10 Premier League fixtures, but was taken off after just nine minutes in the team's match against Watford.

Cameron suffered a thigh injury during Saturday's match against Watford, the Stoke Sentinel reports.

The severity of Cameron's ailment is unclear, though he may be able to have Ryan Shawcross replace him in the starting lineup if the latter can adequately build up his fitness levels after recovering from back surgery.

Cameron (hamstring) is not in the 18-man squad to face Swansea City on Saturday.

Manager Mark Hughes noted Thursday that Cameron had not trained at all during the week, and while he was hopeful to do so Friday, he obviously didn't do enough to warrant playing Saturday. Phil Bardsley will start in his place.

Cameron could miss Saturday's match against Swansea City because of a hamstring injury, manager Mark Hughes said Thursday. "It's a slight issue," Hughes said. "Nothing too serious I don't think, but even so, he still hasn't been able to train fully with the group this week. There is a hope that he will be able to join in fully with the group (Friday), and then possibly be available in time for the game."

Cameron has been a steady starter of late, and has been much more involved in the attack, sending in a fair number of crosses, which helps in formats that reward them.

Cameron is available for Saturday's match against Hull City after serving a one-match ban.

Despite being active, it's far from guaranteed that Cameron will play, though even if he does, he's a minimal fantasy contributor.

Cameron was sent home from training Thursday because of an illness, putting his availability for Saturday's match against Liverpool in doubt, the Liverpool Echo reports.

Cameron, who dealt with a groin injury earlier this season, has been in and out of the starting XI, but he appears close to gaining a regular spot again, if he can get healthy enough in time for Saturday's tie.

Cameron will have surgery Tuesday to correct a hernia and he will be sidelined for a few weeks, the Stoke Sentinel reports.

Cameron hasn't started a Premier League game this season and it appeared that a move away from Stoke during the transfer window would be his best bet for more playing time. Unfortunately for him it didn't happen, so he'll likely be relegated to Capital One Cup matches when he's fit again.

Cameron picked up a groin strain and he will be sidelined for a few weeks, according to the club's official website. "Geoff picked the injury up on Wednesday and won't be in the squad this weekend," manager Mark Hughes said before adding that he is "likely to be out for a number of weeks."

Cameron hasn't gotten much playing time this season and a move away from Stoke may be his best bet to change that situation.
